A Holonic Manufacturing System implementation

Manufacturing systems must adapt to new challenges impacting the economy. New structures, behaviours and requirements arise in response to those challenges. These elements are systematised and different problem approaches are analysed. Multiagent concepts generally and holonic concept specially are studied. Based on its requirements and characteristics several frameworks are compared. Besides, a new framework is presented and its characteristics and features are briefly described. The holonic manufacturing system architecture and the implementation itself is presented. Main contribution to the system is the definition of complex resources, and cooperative blackboards. Additionally, protocols and rules for identification, authentication, registration and information publication through the system must be defined. Dynamic scheduling is adopted and a well-known scheduling method should be adjusted to meet the multiple resource for operation.
